Living for 7 weeks in Mexico

One more time for the taco photo.
OK So we knew that we liked
the town of Kino, but only on our arrival
this time did we discover how much. The
second place we went (after the net cafe)
was a street taco/fish stand. The little
old lady goes back to the cooler to show
Greer the shelled clams, but on a whim she
pulls out a big "heavy" blue crab. Well,
we bought her entire stock on the spot.
Luckily we had brought some Old Bay Seasoning.
Unfortunately we only brought two cans.
So if you read on and you think you might
want to come down and visit, please bring
more Old Bay!

The incredible see-through
beach house
We have rented the loveliest
house in Bahia de Kino . Designed and built
by the man who is now mayor, this house
is an incredible integration of indoor and
outdoor spaces. It never allows us to forget
that we are at the beach.
A view of the courtyard
The place is absolutely grand.
If it were not for the fountain we could
play soccer in the courtyard. The guestrooms
both have out door entrances through the
courtyard. This increases privacy and adds
to the felling of living with the outdoors.
The weather here is delightful.
It ranges between 60 and 80 degrees as the
day heats up in late November.

Am I inside or am I outside?
The back patio looks more
like a living room. Yet it has three huge
porticos for looking out over the Sea of
Cortez. So far on this trip we have seen
leaping bill-fish, a whale's tail, dolphins,
hunting pelicans, (de facto) flying fish,
and sand crabs no-end.

The beach at sunset
The beach in Kino is very
clean and 4 miles long. It is great for
morning walks. There are
numerous islands off shore. We hope to investigate
them as the month goes on.
Stay tuned for more photos
