Sand Canyon National Monument

Take a trip to the Sand Canyon in Canyon of the Ancients National Monument, 15 Minutes west of Cortez on McElmo Canyon Rd. This pinion forest in a Red Rock Desert setting is just silly with ruins. Since the establishment of the National monument, it is almost impossible to miss the many fascinating sites left behind by the Ancient Ones.
