Oct-13 (Friday) George Wallace and Bill climb Mt. Lewis
in the La Platas. At 12,700 feet, Lewis is
not the Tallest mountain around but it sure is steep,
particularly
if you choose the right route. After the hike, both
parties agreed, "Boy, that sure was stupid."

Sabbatical

Nov. 30 Durango, CO - Bill no longer works at OptiMark.
It was a fabulous opportunity to work with an extraordinary
team of people. Bill is now on mid-career sabbatical.
Plans are to visit tropical beaches, teach adaptive
skiing and, if there is any time left over, hunt for
the next career opportunity.
Skiing

Sept. 11, 1999 Arboles, CO - The weather threatened,
but the water was flat. Thanks to Tim Zink and his
Aunt Anne for hosting this fabulous trip. Navaho lake
was warm and the slalom course was empty. In the middle
of the second run, Bill took a brutal fall that left
him at the edge of consciousness for the rest of the
afternoon. Tim, Theresa, Hank and Jen also cut the
rug.

Sep. 8 - Bill Bags a Bike Sept. 12, 1999 San
Mateo, NM - Bill Smith bought Reyes Romero's
1984 Honda Goldwing for an undisclosed amount.
Rey had
kept the bike stored in an hermetically sealed
garage under two covers. Upon starting the 150
mile ride home Bill was quoted as saying "Wheeeeeeeeeeeehaw!".
