Nightlife on Isla exists mainly for relaxation. Most of the bars stay open,
but there is only one geared to dancing. This disco thumps until 4 am. We
cruised by there several times and never saw more than 6 people inside. If
you stay on North Beach especially Cabanas Maria Del Mar. Be prepared to enjoy
the noise.
The center of town has a few interesting bars where you might get treated
to a mix of Mayan and new age rhythms.
The whole place is really safe so explore to your heart's content. In fact
our hotel even used poodles as guard dogs. Here's Bill making nice with Pierre,
one of the off duty security guards.

For beer shoppers, the best price is 8 pesos at YaYa's on the northwest corner
of town. Chips are good and it has a passable ocean view for the sunset.
